Head of Belgian drugs gang arrested after going missing

Belgian police have arrested the suspected leader of a gang of drug traffickers,  Flemish broadcaster VRT announced this morning on the basis of information received from federal prosecutors. The man had been missing for several weeks. Federal police officers had arrested twelve members of the same gang back in August, seizing nearly a tonne of the synthetic drug MDMA. Ten suspects appeared before a magistrate yesterday and six of them were detained. The gang manufactured the drug in Vilvoorde and Chimay. The other two leaders of the gang, one Belgian and one Polish, are still at large.
