Halloween around Brussels

Question

Hi, we live in Forest, and there aren't many families aware of Halloween traditions in the area. We'd like to take our kids trick-or-treating, but could anyone recommend a couple of streets where we might be welcome? I'm guessing around Rhode or Waterloo...

my experience is that you won't be welcome. I tried to take the kids out once, in our neighbourhood and with informing the neighbours first. Belgian, Greek and Dutch neighbours all did not understand what we were doing. It just isn't the culture here. What did work was having a Halloween party though and inviting the children's friends over.

Most of the people knocking on doors in our neighborhood get reported to the police. I wouldn't recommend it.

There was a push on Halloween a few years back from toy-shops trying to beat the pre-1st November ban on St Nicholas advertising, but given the lack of activity this year, I would guess they failed to drum up enough interest to make it profitable.

I was wondering the same thing till I came across this. There's a halloween parade and haunted house, plus trick or treating (candy handed out by small shops arpund the parrish) this Saturday in my neighborhood Joli Bois in Woluwe St. Pierre. I just saw a flyer today.
If the link below doesn't work, just google halloween joli bois. The park is called Dames Blanches where it all starts, it's on a corner, i believe of streets Tir aux Pigeons and Dames Blanches.

Also, fyi for next year, the american womens club organizes a trunck or treat open to non members, we missed it, it was last Sunday. Check their website. Maybe the british club does something as well? I am american though so mot sure. Good luck!
