Good gym and swimming pool i.e. not a Basic Fit in the centre of Brussels

Question

Hi,
I'm looking to find a good gym and a swimming pool in the centre of Brussels, where I'll be moving. Can anyone help?
I don't want to go to Basic Fit since they're almost always too busy and they uniformly lack the warm atmosphere of better gyms.
Cheers,
David

(and in Woluwe but that's hardly central Brussels).

Thanks for the reponse.

I probably seem overly fussy here, but the Aspria ones are really just over-priced. I lived near the one at Woluwe and although it's very attractive inside, for 10 x the amount of a Basic-Fit i'd have joined a gym that didn't even have a squat rack. Not one, single, squat rack.
I'm no serious body-builder, but reckon if I was to ask anyone that was, what are the three most important exercises, the weighted squat would be in everyone's list. To not have a squat rack is as baffling as it is unforgivable.

The one at Arts-Loi seems to be run down from the people i've spoken to, but maybe the one at Louise is better. They may even have a squat rack...

Unfortunately, the best option is quite out of the way. But, at half the cost and so much more equipment, David Lloyd is a fantastic gym.

The Louise Aspria is ok. It is smaller and calm as it is an 'adults only' club. The pool is small but not ever crowded so that makes up for a lot. They are renovating soon (so they said) and maybe will have more fitness equipment then. For now, cable machines, limited free weights and I spotted one smith power rack. :) It is a limited weight area there (they will say that the arts-loi facility is for the "sportive")

Anyhow, if you can make the journey - David Lloyd does not disappoint.

Ask some of the hotels; they have swimming pools and gyms; might have to pay a subscription. Their swimming pool and gym facilities are sometimes available for hotel guests and customers who have paid a subscription just to use the hotel gym facilities and swimming pool.

Sport city swimming pool is one of the best in town. I do not know the other sports facilities.

There is this gym at Porte de Namur called Jimms. And the pool in 1000 Bxl is at the Jeu de Balle!

For the swimming pools in Brussels you have this website : http://www.piscinesbruxelles.be/
For the gyms in Brussels this website : http://www.fitness-clubs.be/en/gym-sport-center/bruxelles. The Worldclass gym in Ixelles has a swimming pool and is not overpriced as Aspria or David Lloyd. For 25€/month you have access to the gym and the swimming pool.

Stadium perhaps, but also not quite in the center.
