Good family doctor

Question

Hi all,

I went to a doctor this morning near place flagey. I was quite surprised that the clinic looked a little run down and there was no receptionist to take down the particulars. I am not sure if that is the norm in Belgium but in my home country, Singapore, we have a receptionist who takes down your personal details and give you a number to see the doctor. There is a pharmacy in the clinic itself and I will collect my medicine from there. Today, after I have seen the doctor (which I paid 25 euro for), I was asked to go to a pharmacy to collect my medicine. Can anyone enlighten me whether this is the normal procedure in Brussels?

I would also like recommendations of good family doctors. Thanks!

I

Yes it's pretty normal here. If you are with a mutuelle, you will get approximately 18 euro refund, so will pay approximately 7 euro. If with a mutuelle, you'll get a percentage of the cost of medicines refunded too.
