Gated dog areas in Brussels

Question

Hi,

I recently moved to Brussels with my dog and I discovered that here are only off-leash areas inside parks, but I would really like to find a closed (gated) area for my dog to play with other dogs (for various reasons, but mostly because I am scared that in the heat of the moment she would run a little too far and she will be lost).
Any advice would be great, thanks!

In fact there are few parks at all where you can let your dog off the leash, Parc Wolvendaal is one, some of Parc de la Woluwe I think too.

Try dog classes.

No, none of Parc de Woluwe. That doesn't stop people from letting their dogs loose to crap anywhere though.

The amount of c*ap in Brussels is mind-blowing..I can't stand it, because where I come from, not cleaning up after your dog is very rare. And to be honest, I cannot understand it, because free bags are in every corner - is it really so hard to be a responsible pet-owner?
As to the gated dog areas, the main reason I would like to find a real closed dog park is, that in my opinion, a lot of people are afraid of dogs and when they are running around in a group, it might get too much for some people. It would be much safer, if dogs would have a closed area inside of the parks..but only gated areas I've found, are children playgrounds. (Again, in my opinion, very wierd, because children cannot run you down or scare the s*it out of you as a group of playful but big and strange dogs can)

I think there is one near Place de Jamblinne de Meux. I sometimes wait for a bus there and see dog owners who go inside the park opposite (there is a closed gate) and once insde, let their dogs off the leash. Might be worth taking a look.

The gate is at the corner of Rue Newton and Place de Gueux

There is  a gated dog park in Ixelles on the Chaussee de Boitsfort.  the entrance is on rue Gordon Bennett - honestly, that's not a joke.

There is a nice, large gated park in Woluwe St. Pierre on Rue Francoise Gay.

the one at Jamblinen de meux is actually a park at the back of the building of the federal police (place des Geux); the dogs are allwoed tacilty, there is no sign nor publicity! the parc is open only on working days from 8am till 6pm (i sumemr: from 7 am on). Ideal if you live nearby! But i heard they will shut the place down as the buildings will be trnasformed into social houses including a private park :(
