Garmin Nuvi 40 GPS

Question

I recnetly upgraded my GPS to the above system. Ok, it is not the Rolls Royce of GPS but am I realistic and can I expect it to list CRL as an Airport? Recently heading there we were flumuxed when it did not appear in any shapre or form - lucky we knorew of a shop nearby which was in and then we followed the noise of the planes... I have written to Garmin and to the Arport but so far no comment.
I must say this system also is very intemperate when in bridges, tunnels and even in central London, sometimes flying off on a tangent - or even worse -a U turn... The shop I bought it from has a catch phrase which sggests ots prices are crazy - perhaps its their equipment? (Mediamarkt) Anyone else any experiences to share?

Haven't used and don't really know anything about the Garmin Nuvi 40 GPS.
If I was searching for CRL, I would use its full name: Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA)
Even though you bought it new, you may already need an update, see:

Agree that you should ensure you have the latest updates.
However, I cannot believe that someone would need GPS to find Charleroi Airport. It's signposted.

Know a couple of colleagues who went to the airport thinking the signposts would lead them there, and somehow they got lost. Matter of fact, I felt guility as I told them just follow the signs and you'll get there. Don't know what they did, but they got lost so I think some people do better with a gps. That's why we are all humans. Had we been perfect, don't think we or you would be in this planet.

I agree Garmin Nuvi is a frustrating gps to use if you don't know the exact road name and number Of where you're heading to. For example it doesn't give you the option of driving to a city 'centre' but presents you with the total list of street names as if you should know which street to take in a city you've never been in before! Also it doesnt display the length of your journey or the final destination name. Next time I'll change brand but the problem is I have paid for my maps to be updated for years to come.
