Fun on skis close to home

The snowfall of late is not all doom and gloom, but can also be fun. Six cross-country trails have just opened across the Eastern Cantons, the German-speaking part of Belgium, where there is a fresh layer of more than 25cm of snow, according to tourist agencies in the region. In Liège province, as well, people are skiing at Thier des Rexhons near Spa. And also in the south of the country, in the province of Luxembourg, there is plenty of cross-country skiing and skiing, especially at Baraque Fraiture, Chiny and Anlier. In Hainaut province, especially around Chimay, as much as 50cm of snow has fallen, providing more than enough to cover the slopes at Rièzes and Vresse-sur-Semois.
