Free public transport in Brussels to see in the new year

Stib public transport services in Brussels will be free on New Year's Eve from midnight until 5.00 in the morning, with extra trams and metros ferrying partygoers to the Atomium fireworks.

Four tram lines serving the Heysel plateau - 3, 7, 51 and 93 - will run an increased service from 20.00 and will keep operating until 2.00 on New Year's morning.

There will also be extra metros on lines 2 and 6. If you plan on seeing in the new year at the Atomium, get off the metro at Heysel or Houba-Brugmann, as Roi Baudouin station will be closed.

The Stib's 11 night bus lines, Noctis, will run from midnight until 5.00 with extra capacity.
