The former king's mistress speaks openly

13:06 22/08/2013

After more than 40 years of silence, Sybille de Selys Longchamp has broken the silence about her relationship with the newly resigned King Albert II. Sybille, the mother of the former king's illegitimate child Delphine Boel, met Albert in Greece, where her father was ambassador. Sybille and Albert had a relationship for 10 years, she says. "My daughter was born in February 1968. I've been living a lie, because I wanted to avoid a scandal. Moreover, I wanted to protect both Albert and Delphine," Sybille is now telling the media.
