Former Brussels Sheraton hotel set to reopen next year

10:00 31/10/2017

The former Sheraton hotel on Place Rogier in central Brussels will reopen next year under a new name, Rogier Hotel, La Capitale reports.

The newspaper says the 30-storey building will remain a hotel, but some floors will be turned into serviced apartments and the top floor will become a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views over the city.

Renovation works began last month. The Sheraton, which was Belgium's biggest hotel with 500 rooms, closed in December 2016 after filing for bankruptcy protection, with the loss of about 200 jobs.

The building was bought earlier this year by Primecity Investment, a Cyprus-registered firm with about 60 hotel holdings in Germany.
