Fix My Street app update adds geolocation and new reporting features
Brussels’ Fix My Street app has been updated with new features, including automatic geolocation and additional reporting categories.
The platform, which allows residents to report issues in public spaces, has been in use since 2012 and is managed by Brussels Mobility.
One of the key updates is automatic geolocation, enabling users to pinpoint problems more accurately.
An interactive map also allows residents and Brussels mobility to see in real time which issues have already been reported, to avoid duplicate reports.
“We immediately receive a photo and an exact location,” said Inge Paemen of Brussels Mobility. “That makes it easier to assess the severity of a problem and respond faster.”
The system is also designed to streamline communication between users and authorities.
“The user simply reports the problem and the system automatically forwards it to the right department,” Paemen said.
New reporting categories have also been added, including the possibility to flag nests of hornets, bees or wasps.
The update aims to improve efficiency and avoid duplicate reports, while making it easier for residents to report a wider range of issues in their neighbourhood.
