Fear of dentist
Hi, I hope someone can help me! My 13y son has an extreme fear of dentists, triggered by a very bad dentist visit when he was about 4, last time I took him to a dentist he ran away just as the procedure was starting. This was about a year ago. He absolutely needs to go see a dentist now as he has a visible cavity on one of his front teeth. I was wondering if anybody knows a dentist who uses laughing gaz for example. Or a dentist who is specialized in patients like my son. I'm afraid that we need more than just a "nice dentist"... We live just south of Brussels but it doesn't matter where in Belgium the dentist is located as long as he/she can help us out! Thanks for your help!
We use Lieve in Overijse. Love her. She can help you or can recommend someone who can. Or egt your GP to prescribe a Vallium or something the night before. but overall you are the parents and they need to learn that it is ok. You need to be firm and they will learn.
I can recommend our dentist Emilie De Smet -http://www.dentistbrussels.be/en/home.html
She also works in a hospital and uses the laughing gas or even sedation if necessary. You can talk to her and find the best solution for your son. All the best!
I also can recommend Lieve. She has a few children herself and is very kind and understanding.
I just saw this today - November 6 - but I can recommend my dentist Dr. Corinne Teblick, 27 Hulstbergstraat, 3078 Meerbeek (Kortenberg) 0477505034, 02/2538333. I sympathise with your son. I also hate going to the dentist, and have been going to Dr Teblick for several years now. She specialises in treating children, which is fine by me!
Hi, i noticed your question. it might not be relevant anymore for you but I might help somebody else... I have very good experience with Ann Ritmeester Cosmetic Dentistry.
