Families that homeschool
You'll need to go on facebook to connect with the groups and be aware many of the English speakers do it for religious reasons of not wanting to mix with infidels.
Many of the English speakers do it because they can't afford the international schools, or may just be here for a few years. It works for some families - it very much depends on circumstances.
You do get the nutters, and that does taint people's view of home schooling, but fortunately, they seem to be in a minority.
Jomou worth checking out the Bct as an organisation they have play sessions for young families. They may well have a home school info base on their system they are run by members nice way to meet people
I was wondering why you are choosing to home school? We are here for 6 years and have put our children in the local French speaking school. They learnt French in 6 months, now chatter non-stop in French. They are learning to mix with other children, their maths are excellent, learning Flemish too. We have taught them to read in English and nearer the time when we go home will teach them to write in English. The local schools are free.
Hi,
Did you find other homeschooling families?
My two children (7 & 9) are homeschooled. We are a Belgian family (French) from Wavre.
It could be interesting to to some «exchanges». Your kids could come at my home to speak French and mine at yours to speak English.
