Eurostar ID or passport?

Question

ID card and Eurostar. I cannot locate my passport currently. I do have an ID card issued to me here in Belgium ( via spouse's employment in eu institutions) I am not belgian but from eu country ( though not sure about importance of the shengen issue)
.
Q is -I am travelling to London tomorrow via eurostar - will they take my Belg ID as good identity, there and back? Has anyone else experience of this. Im not sure whether 'shengen' issue is an issue here. will look it up now. thanks

No they will not. The card you have is a residency permit, not an ID card. ID cards that are valid for travel are only issued to Belgian nationals.
