.eu domain names increasingly popular in Belgium

Latest reports based on the last quarter of 2012 show that the total number of  .eu domain registrations increased in 22 of the 27 EU member states, writes New Europe’s Stanislava Gaydazhieva. Belgium, Bulgaria and Slovenia all saw growth of more than 5%. According to the results of the study released by the European Registry of Internet Domain Names (EURid), the total number of .eu domain names in Belgium in the fourth quarter reached 130,120. The total number in the previous two quarters was 120,298 and 116,656, while in the first quarter it was 115,764. In addition, EURid found that on average, 80% of .eu domain names were renewed last year. This is the sixth consecutive year that .eu has maintained such a high renewal rate.
