enlarging windows
Hi Does any one know if it is required to have planning permission to enlarge a window? We have a really small one in our bathroom that is impractical to open as it is. We have another tiny one in the loo. Planning to improve the double glazing but want to know if it will be a hassle to upsize. The bathroom window is visible from the main road so worried if we just do it hoping to stay under the radar some one notices and tells the commune. Really rather they didnt review my cadesterel its pretty low and if they review it then it will definitely rise

I'd advise you check with your planning department. Anything on the front of the building almost certainly needs permission. So if it's visible, seek advice from the experts.
Good question! I would suggest at least conferring with an architect, check out www.alexandrupatrchi.eu he was able to rejig my apartment and greatly improve the window spaces for me- LOTS more natural light than had been previously entering my rooftop flat (believe it or not!)
Give him a ring, and he'll be able to advise on the PP aspect.
Good luck!
