Electronics repair
Hi, I have an HP Photosmart printer that needs 4 new capacitors soldered on to the circuit board. I'm tempted to buy a cheap soldering iron and do it myself, but have no experience and it's a delicate job. Can anyone recommend an electronics repair shop that might do it for me?
I'd rather not throw the printer out, for the sake of a couple of €1 capacitors.
Not sure if he is still active, but this guy on the ad i believe is an electrical engineer and he fixed my computer where other shops in brussels couldn't.

Forgot to say, he won't charge you for a diagnostic...i mean, he will tell you if the thing is fixable or not and if he can do the job then he will charge you if the job is done.
and he does speak english and he does solder. Sorry for the spamming with messages but realized a bit too late that i should have said this since his ad is in french but he speaks good english, just in case.
I'd just buy a new one? It will almost certainly be be cheaper than paying someone and you'll get a new guarantee.
well, i would get a quote from the engineer first.
He fixed my motherboard for only 20 euros and he fully tested all other components for that price.
A new board would have been 80 euros. More than a year later and the fixed motherboard still good.
Now, indeed, most shops want 30-50 euros just to diagnose the problem, and then you have to pay for the fix, which could be another 50-100+ euros, and in that case, a new printer is cheaper, but I would get a quote out of curiosity first. Then decide maybe to buy a new printer if the quote is outrageous.
