Easy win for Ricciardo in Belgian Grand Prix
Daniel Ricciardo is the winner of the 2014 Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 race in Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday, his third Grand Prix of the season. The Australian Red Bull driver took advantage of an early incident between the two Mercedes drivers, Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton.
Rosberg was able to take second place in front of team-mate Hamilton after the two made contact in the second lap. Both cars came away from the clash with some damage, but Hamilton had to make an early pit stop due to a puncture. Rosberg cashed in on the opportunity, and gladly finished second, knowing Hamilton wouldn't score any points.
Ricciardo finished well ahead of the pack, however it was the clash between the two Mercedes team-mates that made the headlines. Rosberg was booed by the audience, and even his own team was reportedly furious. "The whole team feels betrayed," said Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. “We have not decided whether there will be any penalty involved, because the incident is still fresh, but we will certainly consider it. Maybe we need to devise new guidelines."
