Doubling in cases of burnout in five years
Belgium
17:50 20/11/2016
The number of people diagnosed with burnout has doubled in the past five years in Belgium, according to the national institute for health and disability insurance (Inami). The institute recorded 8,208 people with burnout last year, including 555 independents, compared to 4,574 employees in 2010, writes La Dernière Heure.
The figure is just the tip of the iceberg, says Inami, as it only takes into account people whose burnout has prevented them from working for more than a year. According to HR service provider Securex, as many as one in 10 workers in Belgium faces burnout.
