Door Dismantling

Question

Hi ,

My new house seems to have a lot of doors which are causing an obstruction.  (when one door is opened the other is blocked ...) .

I want to remove one of the doors to avoid the obstruction.

But, they seems to be fixed very tightly and also on top of it i think after fitting the door

some painting has been done . This makes it difficult to visualize the threading on the nails

and also the nails seem to be glued to the door.

Can you please advice me what to do ?

Thanks in advance

Rab C

They will be screws, not nails. You need to chip the paint off the hinges to get to the screwheads. Be careful, because doors can be very heavy! If there is space under the door, put a towel or blanket to prevent damaging the floor.
