Digital Belgium is on target

10:08 26/06/2013

Belgium has met all the digital targets for 2013 set out by the European Commission, and has even achieved some of its targets for 2015, the economy ministry has announced in its Information Society Barometer for 2013. According to the report, 78% of households have an internet connection, rising to 93% for families with children – a figure described by the report as “outstanding”. However, business is lagging behind on its use of information networks for ordering and supply, with only 14% of sales coming from e-commerce. Fewer than one in four companies have ever bought or sold anything online.

Great news! How come the Belgium government unemployment authorities still insists and refuses to accept emails or any digital data stored on memory sticks, CDs/DVDs etc. ? Everything has to be printed out and they do not add their email address on their communication letters.
