Deregistering from the Brussels Commune

Does anyone know how early one can deregister from the Brussels commune (ie, 1000) before actually leaving the country? I have time to go there two weeks before my departure, but don't want to go just to be told that I am there too early. (And yes, I thought of calling/emailing them, but they usually don't answer either, so I thought I would check here). Thanks!
