De Wever launches foul-mouthed tirade at clumsy DJ

As victory speeches go, this one was started off in an original manner. Antwerp mayor-elect Bart De Wever, an erudite polyglot whose knowledge of Latin proverbs has become one of his trademarks, last night lost his cool when the DJ failed to stop a techno record quickly enough. With his microphone on, and as the scene is broadcast live on several channels, De Wever first asks calmly – and in vain – for the music to be stopped before moments later exclaiming “Turn that record off… f***ing idiot!”
