why would she/he order them through amazon when there is a croc shop here in the centre of Brussels?

You appear to have a problem with the suggestion that amazon is a viable alternative to going to a physical shop and making a purchase. While it may be baffling to you, I can assure you that plenty of people do see amazon as a great place to shop.

Price-sensitive customers may choose to order online, where things are often much cheaper than shops in Brussels.

Time-sensitive customers may choose to just drive over to the center of town to pick up a pair of crocs.

I am sure you are not the only one who is aware that one can buy anything from Amazon and had she/he wanted to use amazon, she/he would have done so. Some people like to do their shopping from shops in order to help the shop owners in these very difficult times and also to walk around.
Time sensitive customers should know that it is faster to use transportation instead of driving to the center.
