Control Technique - Tow bar

Question

I will have my control technique for the first time next week. The problem I have is that i fitted a tow bar after I bought the car but i never brought it for inspection. I know this is my fault and realise now. I had it fitted by auto 5 and i have all details etc. Do you know if they will pass the car or what i might expect by way of penalty or anything else. Any info much appreciated!

J

You'll find out when it goes through the inspection. Knowing beforehand won't make any difference anyway.

Probably just counted as a failure to do a normal control, so possibly between approx 8 and 28 euro's. See here: http://www.goca.be/fr/p/Sanctions

Just be really nice to the people at the place and feign ignorance that you had to do a control.

And what about your trailor? Did you get that controlled and taxed?

Thanks for that, and il take your advice. I dont have a trailer, i only use it to carry bikes so at least that part is ok

Tell them that when you feign ignorance - "I didn't realise I had to because I don't use it to tow only for a bike carrier."
You will probably still be fined but they won't look on you as someone who is deliberately breaking the rules.
