Contractual Agents
I work in the European Commission as a Contractual Agent and I remember that some months ago there was a lot of discussion on making it possible to prolong a contractual agents contract for another 3 years(3+3)when working in the commission. I can't seem to find any news on the matter and was just wondering if anyone knows something about it?

The proposal for the revision of the Staff Regulations (which would also include the possibility for contract agents to stay for six years) is still going through the legislative process. Earliest entry into force 1 January 2013 but may be delayed.
By the way, since you are already in the Commission, your best source of information is My IntraComm, especially the very comprehensive and regularly updated section "Proposed changes to the Staff Regulations", not a general discussion forum.
