Concours

Question

I was just looking at the concours applications via EPSO. Some of the questions asked under "motivation" state "maximum 1500 words" That is a much more than I have to say! I am just curiuos - to those here who have applied through EPSO, do you really write that much about how your background helps for this position or why you are interested? I could condense my answers in 500 words and it would be just as honest and to the point. Hmm!

Georgiana

Its a limit not a target in my opinion and its purpose is to curtail those who tend to write a novel about themselves. As its a highly competitive exercise I would suggest you dont think of it just in terms of 'what you have to say' but rather what you have to say and how to sell yourself in this competitive environment. I would go for very 'readable' style with careful use of words to describe key points, in particular those points that may give you advantage over others.
