Colruyt launches new store concept
The Belgian supermarket chain Colruyt has announced the opening of the first branch of 'Cru' at the end of November in a renovated farmhouse in Overijse. With the new store concept, the supermarket group based in Halle intends to offer authentic quality products in a “market atmosphere”.
Cru will bake its bread fresh on site, for example, and roast coffee beans in the store. The supermarket with a market hall wants to encourage more interaction between customers, employees and partners.
The first store will have around 30 employees, and Colruyt is looking specifically for people with experience in the hospitality industry. There is also a vacancy for a chef.
Colruyt Group will gradually introduce the new concept. "With its unique character, Cru should satisfy a very specific group of customers, whose retail needs are not yet being met,” the company announced.
