Coldest night is behind us
Belgium
11:13 15/03/2013
The coldest temperature of the winter for Belgium was recorded last night. In Elsenborn in the High Fens, mercury fell to -17.9C, said meteorologist Eddy De Mey. Several factors caused this low temperature, including a thick layer of snow, generally clear skies and little wind in the polar air. Temperatures are expected to rise to 6C this weekend – below the seasonal average. More snow is likely to hit Belgium between Sunday and Thursday, albeit sporadically and only in the east and south-east of the country.
