Cold snap brings overnight lows of -7°C this week

21:58 04/02/2018

Drivers have been warned to expect icy roads, as a cold snap in Belgium brings sub-zero temperatures for most of this week.

The Royal Meteorological Institute says snow is possible in higher parts of Wallonia and frost and ice patches will make driving conditions difficult at times.

Daytime temperatures will not get much above 2°C-3°C in Brussels - and could fall to -6°C or -7°C overnight on Monday and Tuesday.

Six Belgian ski resorts were open to the public on Sunday, in Liège and Luxembourg provinces, with up to 15cm of fresh snow.
