Coastal town to work on its image

12:30 20/09/2012

The Mayor of Blankenberge, Patrick Klerck (Open VLD), wants to improve the image of his city on the North Sea. According to Klerck, many people see Blankenberge as a “marginal” city where only the lower social classes go on holiday. “That has to change,” he says. Image Consultant Marc Fauconnier has to agree: “It's a busy little town that leaves little room to enjoy all the nice things you associate with the beach and leisure.” Mayor Klerck has called on the help of Flanders District of Creativity, a think tank of the Flemish government, to help clean up Blankenberge’s image by way of a clever marketing campaign.
