I'm possibly too late for the Original Poster, but in case anyone else is interested there is a couple who run a nappy wash service in Brussels - picked up by bike - www.ecotribu.be They also do a demo session of different types of washable nappies and hire out for newborns (useful as a trial). However with just a little organisation and a good choice of cloth nappies there's no problem dealing with the laundry yourself in the longer-term, however if a washing service gets you started in those tiring post-birth months then great! If you're primary motivation is reduced environmental impact the way you wash and dry needs attention. We also have no issues at all with our local (private) crèche and cloth-nappies, but I did hear that others have met with less positive attitudes.
