Climate protest interrupted by yellow vests on Sunday

11:31 01/04/2019

This Sunday, another climate march drew around 8,000 people in Brussels. Demonstrators arrived at the Cinquantenaire at around 16.00, where the crowd waved signs and chanted to keep the pressure on the government.

During the procession, demonstrators hit a road block on Rue de la Loi due to damage from yellow vest protests. Police were able to push the yellow vest protestors back to let the demonstration through.

During the event, a few policemen were attacked by protestors, but were able to get the situation under control. Around 70 yellow vests were arrested, according to Brussels police.

Another climate march took place in Liége, also drawing around 7,000 people.
