CHS Community Help Service celebrates its 50th anniversary with 50km fundraising walk

The CHS Community Help Service, a lifeline for the international community in Belgium, is organising a fundraising walk in celebration of its 50th anniversary on Sunday 17 October.

Stepping up its money-raising initiatives, the mental health centre and 24/7 helpline is gathering pledges for sponsored kilometres from friends and supporters. They are invited to walk their own routes during the week leading up to the 17th, before joining the CHS for the final kilometers in either a 5km and 10km walk on the big day.

Walkers will set off from the CHS office between 14.00 and 15.00 and hike through the neighbouring Bois de la Cambre. Refreshments are available at the CHS afterwards, plus a visit of the next door neighbour’s garden, which featured in the BBC’s 2018 production of Les Misérables.

All funds raised will support the 24/7 English-speaking helpline, which is reliant on donations. To register or obtain more information, email walkforchs@chsbelgium.org
