christmas
We are thinking of staying in Brussels for Christmas this year rather than go back to the UK. I would really like to know if people have a Christmas feeling when they have styed in Belgium, if the markets are open on Christmas eve and boxing day, is there much going on in the center? Are the restaurants busy or is it a quiet stay at home period? If anyone knows of anything specific happening at Christmas?
Thank you and know it is a hard one to answer because Christmas means different things to people.
I went to the winter fair down at St Catherine a couple of years ago which was fun. Stalls selling mulled wine and Genever and there was an ice skating rink there. Most of the Christmas period I was in Namur, there is a Christmas feel in the shops just different food and drink, The raclette seems very popular.
