Children hospital recommendation

Question

Hi all,

based on your experience, which hospital in Brussels would you recommend for a health emergency of your children? We have only been to HUDERF and although the doctors were really helpful and the hospital facilities are great, the waiting hours in case of emergency can be over 2 or 3 hours.

If it is an emergency, go to the nearest hospital.

Yes, nearest hospital is the best for emergency. However, this is a usual waiting period. We waited for between 2-3 hours on a Saturday at St Luc for a broken finger.

If not emergency, HUDERF is the best. They have very good doctors. Some come to HUDERF from other cities at certain days. Best experts are there.

Broken finger i would have taken to clinique malou, smaller, minor emergencies only. It s 1km from st luc.

Non emergency but urgent would use out of hours gp service, cmgu in grounds of st luc is an example, again clinique malou is for urgent non emergencies.

For non emergency non urgent, depends in specific problem.

Thank you all for your answers.
Actually there are 4 hospitals, all between 12-15 minutes from my place. HUDERF, Etterbeek-Ixelles, CHIREC Delta and St Luc. Anyone had an experience in any of them?

Yes, as I said above, it took 2,5-3 hours to get out of the emergency at St. Luc but the service was good and there were not many people waiting. This is the usual at hospitals

CHIREC-Delta is good but the most pricey hospital in Brussels. Good doctors, many are speaking English.
