Car insurance - no record of experience

Question

I have a driving license for 11 years, but I don't have any proof of owning a car or previously having a car insurance. Now I'd like to buy a car in Belgium and was wondering if the insurance company will count any of my driving experience. What is the best way to argue? Thanks.

J

They will take your age into account, and quite possibly the number of years since you passed your test.
.
They will also take any previous motoring convictions and accidents into account, and your previous insurance history.
.
There is nothing to argue about.
.
Do shop around - quotes can vary wildly.
