Cafe Belga closed for renovations after 18 years non-stop

Fans of Cafe Belga's sunny terrace on Place Flagey will need to make alternative plans for the next fortnight - the popular hangout is closing for the first time in 18 years for renovation work.

The lively cafe, on the ground floor of the Flagey building, closed to the public on Monday and is due to reopen on Friday 1 March.

"After 18 years of non-stop opening, seven days a week, it's time for some renovation," management posted on Facebook.
