Lord Rochester (aka Russell Wilkins of Pop Rivets/Milkshakes/Gruff Men/Len Bright Combo/Wildebeests fame) makes a very welcome return to the BRBC (where he first played, with the Wildebeests, in 2002). His Lordship sings and plays Gretsch guitar and harmonica, and will be accompanied by Lady Muck on bass and vocals and Mike Goodwin (from The Thanes) on percussion. Glasgow Night Out has described them as "perfectly pitched rock 'n' roll at its purest, unadulterated, tartan sports jacket wearing, lo-fi, fiddletastic best." Their CD "Hey!", featuring 13 of their own songs, prompted UK Rock Magazine to say "Lord Rochester are a breath of fresh air ... Not since King Kurt have I heard a band with such a complete understanding of what constitutes rock n' roll, and then also had the ability to playfully subvert it, while remaining within the genre.”
