Brussels parks and Sonian Forest closed due to weather

12:42 08/02/2016

The Sonian Forest and all of the parks in the Brussels-Capital Region are closed from Sunday evening due to the severe weather forecast, announced the region's environmental organisation Bruxelles Environnement. The weather conditions will be reassessed on Wednesday.

Due to the forecast storms this week, which include wind gusts of more than 80km per hour, Bruxelles Environnement advised in a press release to "avoid the region's parks and forests, and to remain at a safe distance from trees.”

All parks and forests are therefore not accessible from 17.00 on Sunday until at least 21.00 on Wednesday, at which time the areas will be inspected for damage and any fallen branches or trees removed.
