Brussels is the largest offender of smoking ban

11:37 06/07/2016

Brussels cafés and restaurants are Belgium's largest offenders when it comes to ignoring the total smoking ban that went into force five years ago, writes De Standaard. The hospitality industry prohibits smoking in its establishments since July 2011, except in designated smoking rooms. Figures shared with De Tijd reveal that the Brussels-Capital Region scores poorly during police checks.

Across Belgium, infringements of the smoking ban were discovered in 17% of the inspections over the past five years, but there are major regional differences. While only 10.5% of all checks occurred in the Brussels-Capital Region, one-quarter of these revealed an infringement.

There were a total of 29,494 inspections carried out across Belgium over the last five years: 3,000 in the Brussels-Capital Region, 9,950 in Wallonia and 16,600 in Flanders.

Big surprise, not. It's not just Brussels though, it's astonishing just how many places are still completely ignoring the smoking ban. Even more odd is how they managed to make checks on tiny little fishing clubs way of the beaten track in the middle of nowhere, yet certain cafes on the main road NEVER get checked at all and continue to smoke just as they did before the ban.

OSHA also took on the passive smoking fraud and this is what came of it:

Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence: Third Edition

This sorta says it all

These limits generally are based on assessments of health risk and calculations of concentrations that are associated with what the regulators believe to be negligibly small risks. The calculations are made after first identifying the total dose of a chemical that is safe (poses a negligible risk) and then determining the concentration of that chemical in the medium of concern that should not be exceeded if exposed individuals (typically those at the high end of media contact) are not to incur a dose greater than the safe one.

So OSHA standards are what is the guideline for what is acceptable ''SAFE LEVELS''

All this is in a small sealed room 9x20 and must occur in ONE HOUR.

For Benzo[a]pyrene, 222,000 cigarettes.

"For Acetone, 118,000 cigarettes.

"Toluene would require 50,000 packs of simultaneously smoldering cigarettes.

Acetaldehyde or Hydrazine, more than 14,000 smokers would need to light up.

"For Hydroquinone, "only" 1250 cigarettes.

For arsenic 2 million 500,000 smokers at one time.

The same number of cigarettes required for the other so called chemicals in shs/ets will have the same outcomes.

So, OSHA finally makes a statement on shs/ets :

Field studies of environmental tobacco smoke indicate that under normal conditions, the components in tobacco smoke are diluted below existing Permissible Exposure Levels (PELS.) as referenced in the Air Contaminant Standard (29 CFR 1910.1000)...It would be very rare to find a workplace with so much smoking that any individual PEL would be exceeded." -Letter From Greg Watchman, Acting Sec'y, OSHA.

Why are their any smoking bans at all they have absolutely no validity to the courts or to science!

Smoking Ban Inspector Stripped Naked in Belgium

In the Belgian village of Sivry Rance an inspector of the Department of Health was attacked by the customers of the Café de la poste and stripped naked. The man was controlling the ban on smoking in bars.

Albert D. (53) was, along with thirty other colleagues, responsible for the control of the entire Belgian territory. His inspection was unannounced and happened as always on a random list of catering businesses.

Cafe de la Poste in the center of the village serves a daily special at noon but in the evening is frequented by a slightly rougher clientele: mostly members of the local Hell's Angels. According to eyewitnesses, the inspector was stripped to his pants. Personal belongings were tossed way back in the barroom supported by some intense cheering.

Afterwards the man was dropped in the forest and found shelter in an old gamekeeper's house. dressed in an old horse blanket, he managed to reach the local police station . The public prosecutor of Charleroi condemned this aggression and intimidation of a public official. The prosecution asks anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the police.

Look who first invented the Passive smoking Fraud

Hitler's Anti-Tobacco Campaign

One particularly vile individual, Karl Astel -- upstanding president of Jena University, poisonous anti-Semite, euthanasia fanatic, SS officer, war criminal and tobacco-free Germany enthusiast -- liked to walk up to smokers and tear cigarettes from their unsuspecting mouths. (He committed suicide when the war ended, more through disappointment than fear of hanging.) It comes as little surprise to discover that the phrase "passive smoking" (Passivrauchen) was coined not by contemporary American admen, but by Fritz Lickint, the author of the magisterial 1100-page Tabak und Organismus ("Tobacco and the Organism"), which was produced in collaboration with the German AntiTobacco League.

That's fine company are so called public health depts. keep with ehh!

History can shed so much lite on todays own movement it just amazes the mind...........

Hitler Youth had anti-smoking patrols all over Germany, outside movie houses and in entertainment areas, sports fields etc., and smoking was strictly forbidden to these millions of German youth growing up under Hitler.”

The ordinance cites several U.S. Surgeon General’s Reports that found second hand smoke exposure carries serious health risks........
Really how can that be when SHS is 96% water vapor and air according to the chemical breakdown in the SG report 1989 page 80.
Ya Im rolling on the ground laughing too

Not likely the only thing coming is an end of the 4th reich and your lifestyles war on the people of the world!

I would ban your habit from public, period. No more walking behind a mobile health hazard sucking at his drugs, no more sharing the terrace with you, no more battling past you huddled in doorways. Yup, strictly an activity for consenting adults in private. Oh, and strictly only licenced sales and as a buyer, you too should need a licence, only obtained once seeing a smoker bubbling their last breaths at a premature death, and after you met their family. A total end to the tyranny of the smoker demanding all around accept his drug habit, share it, or go take a running jump. I suspect you and I would not see eye to eye on the subject, David. ;-)

Daniel if you chose to par take that's your choice but why should those of who don't have to also partake? I used to go to pubs in the uk in my twenties and come out smell awful and have to shower wash my hair and clothes because of the amount of cigarette smoke now days it's wonderful not to have to do that. I'm not denying you the right but smokers inflict the fumes from cigarettes on the rest of us in enclosed spaces.
Having been a nurse and witnessed the rubbish the body deposits on the blood vessels being removed and seen people with chronic airways disease literally dying for another cigarette I'm not at sad to discover its origin at least they got one thing correct

how about the lifestyle war of smokers on non-smokers, seriously restricting our freedom to breathe clean air instead of that stinking toxic mix. Why should anyone have to kow tow to addicts who think they are making some pathetic stand for rebelliousness but are actually shoring up the establishment by lining the pockets of big business. My freedom ends where yours begins and vice versa. My freedom is to be free, free from subjection to other peoples' self centred selfishness - and it's especially selfish to smoke around children. No idea where those bizarre OSHA figures are from but if OSHA is anything like the industry body, sorry, supposedly independent EU agency EFSA, then it's riddled with tobacco industry execs trying to spin things their way.
