Brussels high school prohibits tracksuits

11:46 26/04/2017

The Koninklijk Atheneum Koekelberg, a secondary school in the Brussels municipality of Koekelberg, has had enough of students coming to school in training trousers, or tracksuits. The school board has therefore prohibited the wearing of all tracksuit items, including trousers, jerseys and leggings, or other 'offensive' clothing, reports Bruzz.

Tracksuits may only be worn during sports days, says the school. From May, students who do not adhere to the new dress code will be sent home.

With the measure, the board intends to prepare students for the labour market. "A neat appearance at work is a basic requirement from most employers," according to the school.
