Brussels has highest babysitting rate in Belgium

10:18 05/09/2016

In the Brussels-Capital Region, parents pay an average of €8.80 per hour to hire a babysitter, writes Bruzz. The most expensive municipalities are found in and around the capital.

Babysitting platform Yoopies compared rates across Belgium and found that the Brussels Region is the most expensive place to hire a babysitter at €8.80 an hour on average. The research shows that the rates in the other Belgian provinces are not that much lower, with the least expensive province, Hainaut, still costing parents an average of €8.02 per hour.

The differences between the Brussels municipalities, however, are slightly larger, the study shows. A babysitter in Dilbeek charges the highest rate per hour (€9.52 on average), followed by Ganshoren (€9.21) and Ixelles (€9.14).

The least expensive cities in Belgium to hire a babysitter are Aalst (€6.64), Bruges (€6.68) and Kortrijk (€6.86), according to Yoopies.
