Brussels Airport launches separate 'kids lane'

08:39 02/08/2016

Brussel Airport has successfully tested a new security procedure specially adapted for families with young children, writes Bruzz. "At busy times, this makes all the difference and everyone finds it an added value."

"Those of us who work at Brussels Airport also include mothers and fathers, so we know that air travel can be especially stressful for children," says Nathalie Van Impe of Brussels Airport.

The airport therefore came up with the idea of the Kids Lane, which was tested at the airport between late June and early July.

In practice, families with children 12 years and younger are taken from the general queue and guided to the Kids Lane, a special security point decorated with balloons. The checkpoint provides extra assistance for people with buggies or liquids above the permissible limit, such as baby food.

“The main objective of the Kids Lane is increased customer satisfaction, and we seem to have achieved this during the test,” says Van Impe.
