Brussels Airlines: Pilots issue indefinite strike notice

18:07 10/06/2022

The unions representing pilots at Brussels Airlines have issued management with an indefinite strike notice.

Although the action does not mean they will definitely strike, if one is organised, it will take place at the end of June or the beginning of July, reports RTBF.

The new strike notice is the result of the failed conciliation meeting in February, said Christian union CNE’s permanent secretary Didier Lebbe.

This latest deterioration in relations between the Zaventem-based airline and staff follows a conciliation meeting on Tuesday about cabin crew’s rest time and work schedule, which also ended without an agreement.

Brussels Airlines subsequently announced that it was cancelling almost 150 short-haul flights over the summer. Unions representing cabin crew are currently consulting delegates about possible strike action. A decision is expected next Wednesday.
