Broke my key in the lock
Have had a string of breaking in attempts my appartment complex involving the basement storage rooms. Although they didn't break in to mine, they did vandalise the lock itself - so I broke my key in it... Does anyone know of a locksmith that can open it and doesn't overcharge? I'll install a new lock myself.

I can recommend Mertens, rue de Tilleul, Evere. Very professional. Cheap? Dunno! You get what you pay for. Had similar problem in our building, and in the end Mertens installed portes blindees on cellars.

small family shop, I've used him for years & found him prompt & pragmatic. I don't find him expensive for what he does but that is a relative thing. Not certain he speaks English, I use French.
You could see yellow pages (pages d'or) online, make a few calls & ask what each firm usually charge for what you want. Will give you an idea.

If it helps; I've done all the silly things one can do with locks, best was slamming the main door of the building with my security key in the lock on the inside - I was outside :( holiday weekend, no-one else home.
But locksmith Hussein arrived 20 minutes after my call, with smile & let me in.
