10:28 11/12/2014

With 25,306 employees in 2013, Bpost maintains its position as Belgium's largest employer, despite ending last year with 11,000 fewer domestic jobs than in 2012, according to Trends magazine’s Top 2015, Belga reports. Also known as the Belgian Post Group, Bpost is the Belgian company responsible for the delivery of national and international mail.

The second largest employer in Belgium is the international bank BNP Paribas Fortis, with 17,316 employees in 2013, nearly 1,000 less than in 2012, which is part of a strategic plan to work with 1,500 less staff members by 2015.

The Colruyt Group is the country’s third largest employer, followed by the rest of the top ten: Belgacom, Delhaize Group, Infrabel, ING Belgium, Carrefour Belgium, KBC Bank and De Lijn. ArcelorMittal Belgium is the 11th largest employer, and Volvo Cars Belgium is 17th in the list.

Bpost has very expensive postal tariffs and the service is very poor.

Postal services around the world with government ownership use their postal service as a way to employ the otherwise unemployable.

Half of them could be fired. if you can get them out of the pub.
