boxx thermostat

Question

Hello, is there anyone in the forum using Engie's smart thermostat Boxx? If so my question is how do you establish the optimum settings in the boiler (we have Vaillant ecoplus boiler). Is it best to choose 60C or just set it to max 75C?

xl

we don't use the mentioned Engie boxx as we have set days/heating times for water and warmth / holidays = all different options we use) directly at our Vaillant ecoplus.
it's set since 10 years at +59/60 C to avoid mor than deposits of calcaire (in Brussels) and works perfect since then.

sorry, typo day today:

should read:
it's set since 10 years at +59/60 C to avoid more than necessary the deposits of calcaire (in Brussels) and works perfect since then.
the calcification starts over 60 C.
Good luck, xl

Thanks for the reply. We have water softening system therefore not sure if going 75 C will have any bad impact on the calcification however I want to find the most energy efficient setting.

How on earth do you expect people to know this? Even if they have the same equipment they don’t live in your home. Different age of building, water system, room size etc. Why not do a trial yourself or ask your chauffagist their advice on your system.

My question is to set it to 'max' value irrespective of use. I am not asking advise on how to use the thermostat, which of course depends on your personal preference.

For your information I have already asked the technician servicing boiler, who are not trained for smart thermostats, which are capable of controlling directly the boiler.
