Bonfires
Hi,
Does anyone know what the rules are concerning having a bonfire in a private garden? I have checked my commune website (Watermael-Boitsfort) but found nothing.
I have a lot of (dry) branches and garden waste that I would prefer to burn rather than stuff into green plastic bags - if possible.

The obvious people to ask are the local Fire Station really, not anyone here perhaps.
I can't recall the exact distance but you are not allowed to light a fire within x metres of a building. I think x = 50 but it is certainly a big enough number to mean that garden fires are forbidden.
It is 100 metres in my commune. The local police are the people to ask - if you light a fire too close to housing and it annoys someone you will quickly meet the police anyway.
