Blue stone or granite kitchen counter top
I'm getting a stone counter top for my new (shiny white) kitchen. I love blue stone, I love how it ages, I love that it is Belgian. I understand the staining risks (especially acids). I have a seperate wooden bar where I prepare most of my food, so this lowers the risk. I'd like to hear from people who have blue stone or granite, and what they love about it or not. Thanks!!!!
we recently had blue stone installed in our bathroom. it is beautiful, and we haven't had any problems at all, though only water really gets on it. we just make sure the water is wiped away before we leave the bathroom. also, make sure any silicone used is "neutral", meaning not acidic. most silicone is acidic, which will damage the stone over time. it will say right on the front of the tube and on the back it will say that it's appropriate for natural stone.
